Polestar Musical Theatre Summer Camps 2026

This summer, Encinitas Country Day School and the Polestar Foundation are excited to offer a weekly Musical Theatre Workshop to students from the ages of 7–13 years of age. Students will be given the tools to build confidence on stage and off as they hone their musical theatre skills. Polestar’s fun, summer workshop-based structure promotes self-expression, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. Each child will get to study many aspects of theatre arts, develop valuable life skills, and produce quality performances!

Voice & Movement

Know your voice — it’s strong, it’s sensitive, it’s resilient, and it’s you! Students will learn to strengthen and condition their voices, unlocking the true power and range of their instruments. Students will learn repeatable vocal warm-ups to help prepare for performances of all kinds, such as auditions and/or classroom presentations as well as day-to-day speaking skills.

Drama / Musical Theatre

Polestar members will learn the actors’ process of creating three-dimensional characters and truthful actions for the stage through script analysis, improvisation, and ensemble work, all in service of creating an original musical theatre production.

Musical Theatre Dance

Musical Theatre Dance class will focus on learning various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Registration
